How long does your custom process take?

On average, it can take anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks from the time you select your diamond and design to when you receive your finished piece of jewelry. However, this timing will vary depending on your design and diamond preferences.

After your initial consultation, your assigned gemologist will confirm the approximate timeline to create your custom piece.

How much does custom jewelry cost?

At Jewelry For Lovers, we cater to all budgets. The cost of a custom piece of jewelry is dependent on the materials and labor required. Given that we work with precious metals and gemstones, and all of our jewelry is handmade in NYC, the majority of the pieces we create start around $1,000 or higher.

Do you charge any fees for your consultations?

No! All of our consultations are complimentary.

Do you work with lab grown and natural diamonds?

Yes! We specialize in both lab grown and natural diamonds. We also work with colored gemstones upon request.

Are your diamonds certified?

Yes! We offer both GIA and IGI certified diamonds.

Can I provide my own gemstones?

Yes! We are happy to incorporate your own gemstones and heirloom pieces into a custom design when possible. Please note that this decision is at the discretion of our gemologists and master jewelers who will evaluate if they are able to work with your gemstones or heirloom pieces.

Do you have care instructions for your jewelry?

To help ensure your jewelry lasts a lifetime, we recommend removing your jewelry during activities that may result in excessive pressure, blunt trauma, or exposure to chemicals that may erode or react with precious metals. This includes activities such as, but not limited to, exercising, cleaning, gardening, sleeping, swimming and showering.

To clean your jewelry, simply soak it in warm water mixed with mild dish soap and gently scrub away any dirt and debris using a soft toothbrush. Thoroughly rinse the jewelry and dry it using a lint-free polishing cloth.

The Jewelry For Lovers team offers unlimited free inspections, prong tightening, and deep cleanings. We recommend having your jewelry serviced on an annual basis. Customers are responsible for any shipping costs.

Do you have a warranty?

We offer a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Defects are determined upon inspection by the Jewelry For Lovers team. This warranty does not include general wear and tear, accidental or incidental breakage, theft, loss, or any damage that our professionals deem is not due to craftsmanship related issues. If the original item has been altered in any way by a third party jeweler, the warranty is voided.

The Jewelry For Lovers team offers unlimited free inspections, prong tightening, and deep cleanings. Customers are responsible for shipping costs.

Do you offer repairs?

Yes! We offer repairs on jewelry produced by the Jewelry For Lovers team. Please contact us for a repair quote or to determine if your repair is covered by our limited lifetime warranty.

Can your rings be resized?

For our rings that are resizable, we offer 1 complimentary resizing. Depending on the design, we typically can adjust a ring up or down a maximum of 1 size.

Do you offer insurance?

No, but we do provide an appraisal with your purchase that you can submit to an insurance company for coverage. We recommend Jewelers Mutual as the most reputable, easy to work with insurance company for fine jewelry. However, you may be able to obtain coverage through an existing policy, such as your homeowners or renters insurance.

What is your return/exchange policy?

Given that our fine jewelry is made to order and personalized, we do not offer returns or exchanges. However, please contact us should you have any issues with your order.

Do you have a showroom?

We do not have a retail showroom or storefront, however we do offer consultations by appointment at our NYC office. Please contact us to schedule an appointment and to receive our office address.

Do you ship outside of New York state?

Yes! We currently ship throughout the US and to most international locations. All shipments are insured and require a signature upon delivery.

If you are located outside of the United States, please contact us to confirm if we are able to ship to your location. Please note that you bear full responsibility for any duties and taxes associated with your shipment.
